Cooperation in Education Gateway (CiE Gateway) Playbook

The Cooperation in Education (CiE) Playbook serves as a strategic guide for implementing effective collaboration in educational settings, addressing both intra-organizational (within universities) and inter-organizational (between universities and external stakeholders) partnerships.

Authors: CiE Gateway Project Consortium

Publication date: 2025

Developed as part of the ERASMUS+ project CiE Gateway, this Playbook is based on extensive research, interviews with educators, analysis of good practices, and insights from a podcast series featuring university and industry experts.

Collaboration in education plays a vital role in fostering innovation, enhancing student learning experiences, and strengthening the connection between academia, industry, and society. The CiE Playbook provides a structured approach to integrating challenge-based, problem-based, experiential, and competency-based learning models into curricula, ensuring that students develop critical skills relevant to the evolving job market.

Key challenges to successful collaboration include institutional silos, misalignment of goals between universities and external partners, and resource constraints. To address these barriers, the Playbook offers practical recommendations, including strategies for developing sustainable partnerships, ensuring effective communication, and creating frameworks for long-term collaboration.

By leveraging these insights, universities can enhance their cooperative efforts, drive innovation in education, and equip students with the skills needed for real-world challenges.
